Anja Ben­newitz was born in Ber­lin in 1979. She stud­ied Law at the Hum­boldt-Uni­versity Ber­lin and com­pleted her stud­ies for the First Leg­al State Ex­am in 2005. After 2 years of Leg­al Clerk­ship in the Fed­er­al States Ber­lin and Branden­burg she took the Second Leg­al State Ex­am in 2007.

In 2008 Anja Ben­newitz was sworn in as a law­yer by the state of Thüringen and cur­rently has her own law of­fice and prac­tises in as­so­ci­ation with the law firm KLS.
